Around the time this track was written (in say...2006?) lots of bad shit went down...like losing my band, business, girlfriend, etc all in the course of a month or two, and I pretty much went bonky. Then everything I owned that proved I existed (pictures, diplomas, yearbooks - basically every keepsake I ever had) was stolen by drug addicts out of a Public Storage unit I rented, and none of it was ever recovered.

So this tune kinda mourned the breakup, and I titled it Public Storage because I was bitter about the robbery incident at the time, and because "public storage" seemed like a fine analogy for what I thought a relationship was: a cold, dark, insecure container - the contents of which could be pilfered at any time! Haha! Now that I've cheered you up, go listen to the song!
